DU Psychologist Receives National Award

Omar Gudiño recognized by the National Register

Omar G. Gudiño, assistant professor of psychology, has been named the 2016 Judy E. Hall Early Career Psychologist Award winner. The honor is given by the National Register of Health Service Psychologists.

Gudiño provides research and clinical instruction to undergraduate, doctoral and postdoctoral trainees. He also directs a research program focused on understanding and meeting the mental health needs of ethnic minority groups. In addition, Gudiño serves as an appointed member of the Denver Latino Commission, where he advises the Denver mayor on issues and policies relevant to the Latino community.

The award is named after Judy E. Hall, the executive officer of the National Register from 1990 to 2013. The award recognizes excellence in a National Register credentialed psychologist with fewer than 10 years of postdoctoral experience.
