Typically, the first flakes of the academic year have covered campus by Oct. 18, the average date for Denver's first snowfall. This year, the snow arrived exactly a month later than average.

This morning, Campus Life and Inclusive Excellence hosted the second annual “DU First Snow.” Students, faculty and staff marked the occasion with hot chocolate and donuts, all while staying warm next to a fire pit on the Driscoll Green. The first 500 students received a DU first snow scarf.
