With sunny skies and temperatures in the 80s, a beautiful late-summer day provided a fantastic backdrop for the fifth annual Crimson Classic. 527 people registered to participate in Wednesday’s 5K run and 1.5 mile walk. More than half of the students, faculty and staff who took part in the event ran the 5K course along the north side of campus.

In the men’s race, this year’s top finishers were Daniel Zimney-Schmitt, Ramsey Walker and Jonathan Callahan. On the women’s side, Marit Tegelaar, Molly Smith and Antonia Gabrielli were the top finishers.

The Crimson Classic serves as an opportunity for DU employees to learn more about well@du. The University’s wellness program provides programming and incentives to encourage employees to increase the knowledge of their health status and achieve health goals.

For the second consecutive year, Kaiser Permanente, Lockton Companies and TIAA sponsored the Crimson Classic and helped make the event possible.
